NEW YORK — NFL Week 16 continued Saturday with games in the NFC East and NFC North, while playoff positioning remained unsettled across both conferences.
The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders on Saturday afternoon in Landover, Maryland. Later, the Chicago Bears hosted the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field.
Earlier in the week, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Los Angeles Rams 38-37 in overtime Thursday night at Lumen Field.
The Seahawks’ win came on a walk-off score in the extra period and moved Seattle further up the NFC standings entering the weekend. The Rams, who had already secured a playoff berth, dropped a close road game after leading late in regulation.
Saturday’s games added further movement in the NFC races, with the Eagles and Bears both remaining in contention for postseason spots entering the final weeks of the regular season.
In the AFC, Denver entered the weekend holding the conference’s top record, with multiple teams behind them still competing for playoff positioning. Buffalo, New England, Jacksonville and the Los Angeles Chargers remained in the mix heading into Sunday’s slate.
Sunday’s schedule includes Buffalo at Cleveland, the Chargers at Dallas, and Jacksonville at Denver. New England is set to visit Baltimore on Sunday night, and San Francisco will play at Indianapolis on Monday night.
With three weeks remaining in the regular season, several teams remain in position to secure playoff berths, while division races in both conferences remain unresolved.
