What are METs and MET Minutes?
A MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) is a measure of the energy cost of a physical activity. One MET is the equivalent of sitting at rest. MET minutes are a way to measure the total volume of physical activity in a week. They are calculated by multiplying the MET value of an activity by the number of minutes it's performed.
The World Health Organization recommends at least 600 MET minutes per week for adults.
